Come join us at The Underground for another installment of our Songwriters Round! Featured singer/songwriters this evening are Jason Ager, Lisa Jeanette, Nancy Huebner. This is a Nashville style songwriters round where the artists sing songs, tell stories and engage the audience for a night of wonderful memories. Doors open at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm.
Jason Ager
Jason Ager is a dedicated father, a passionate college professor, and a hyper-literate original songwriter. Balancing a PhD in German Literature with a few days a week as a stay-at-home dad, Jason still plays more than 100 shows a year in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. On his third album, Porchlight, Ager’s talent as a storyteller shines as he weaves together the academic and the arcane into clever lyrics that reward the careful listener. Nestled comfortably atop classic soul, R&B, and rock influences, songs like “Overload” and “Everybody Needs Love” epitomize Jason’s ability to rouse hearts and minds in the same breath.

Lisa Jeanette
Lisa Jeanette is a native Philadelphian and singer-songwriter who has recently released her debut album, Chasing Happy. The best way to describe Lisa’s style of music is Kaleidoscope Folk, which represents a wide variety of genres in a diverse collection of songs.
The youngest of nine, Lisa took to timesharing her siblings’ guitars. She earned a Bachelor’s of Music in double bass performance from Temple University, where she studied with Henry Scott, retired bassist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Lisa currently plays double bass with Main Line Symphony Orchestra, a community orchestra in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Nancy Huebner
Nancy Huebner is a singer/songwriter originally from Philadelphia. Classically trained in piano and a former vocal performance major at Temple University, Nancy writes atypical songs that span genres and often resemble musical theater pieces. She is presently working on recording her first three CDs, as well as a musical about her day job as a registered nurse.
